Judge Orders Stephen Coco to Return to Jail

The former Manchester police officer had been released early by a jail superintendent.

A former Manchester police sergeant who was serving time for a hit-and-run of two people in Bedford and who was released early is being ordered to return to prison, according to WMUR, which broke the story July 10.

Stephen Coco turned himself in to authorities after the accident in 2013 and he was, at that time, formally charged with two felony counts of conduct after an accident, Bedford Patch reported. Two teenagers walking along the side of Harrod Lane in Bedford were injured when the SUV driven by Coco struck them.

He was serving a year's sentence.
