Jeb Bradley Won't Run for Governor, U.S. Senate

A gubernatorial run has apparently been a hot topic lately in Republican circles.

UPDATE: State Sen. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) told WMUR-TV on Tuesday that he will not run for statewide office in 2014. This rules out runs for U.S. Senate or governor.

The following story was posted Tuesday morning:

The Union Leader reported over the weekend that State Sen. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) is being pushed to run for governor in 2014.

Bradley had been said to be considering a run for U.S. Senate against incumbent Jeanne Shaheen. But the idea of a Bradley gubernatorial run has apparently been a hot topic lately in Republican circles. So far, no Republican contenders have come forward to publicly challenge first-term Gov. Maggie Hassan.

Bradley did not want to comment on the rumor when asked about it on Tuesday.

If Bradley does run for governor, the Union Leader says Dan Innis of Portsmouth, who is considering a run for the 1st District Congressional seat, might instead decide to run for Senate.
