Fired Manchester Officer Will Still Receive Pension

Stephen Coco, charged in Bedford hit and run, is still eligible for some retirement benefits.

Stephen Coco was fired from his job of more than 17 years on Monday.

Tuesday, he was charged with two felony counts of conduct after an accident after he allegedly hit two teenage boys and fled the scene.

Today, it's being reported that Coco, whether convicted or not, will still receive his pension.

According to a report from WMUR, the former Manchester Police sergeant will be eligible to claim his pension when he turns 45 since he is vested after more than 10 years of employment with the department.

The Union Leader indicates he may receive more than $37,000 a year based on the $84,000 salary he was making when he was fired.

WMUR also noted that the Manchester PD internal investigation is complete and no additional action will be taken.
