Lightning Strike May Have Sparked Bedford Fire

The fire broke out around 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

Firefighters are responding to a report of a single-alarm fire on Reed Drive.

The fire was reported around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, according to emergency radio broadcasts. Smoke and fire are reportedly showing from an attached garage located between 19 and 21 Reed Drive.

A firefighter at the scene said that a lightning strike was the likely cause of the fire. One firefighter is being treated, but it wasn't immediately known what he was being treated for.
