Bulldog Bites: BHS Girls Soccer Team Takes Aim at Title

Two Bedford High School sports teams still have shots at state titles.

In the last couple weeks, the Bedford High School golf team earned a state championship and the girls volleyball team and field hockey teams each reached and competed in the post season. This week, the school's two soccer teams and football teams have had and still have several meaningful games. The following is a quick recap of the action and what's still on tap: Girls Soccer The third-seeded Bedford High School girls soccer team – which defeated No. 2 Londonderry, 4-3, in the state semifinals Wednesday night – looks to win the Division I championship tomorrow night at 6:15 at Southern New Hampshire University where it takes on top-seed Exeter. Bedford Soccer Players Display Talents in South Africa

Trip was an opportunity of a lifetime, say members of New England Revolution youth development program.

For many young athletes, an opportunity to use their talents to travel abroad is a dream of a lifetime. Two Bedford residents recently earned that exact opportunity. Erik Martel and Casey Schehl, members of the New England Revolution youth development program, traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, where they competed in the Future Champions Gauteng Under-17 Tournament from March 26-31. "Traveling to South Africa was a once in a lifetime experience for me," said Schehl. "The competition we faced while there was at a higher level that we would not see anywhere in the United States.
