Szabo Compares Abortions to Slavery, Condones Use of Deadly Force

"Just because a law is on the books does not mean that it's lawful," the Hillsborough County Sheriff candidate said.

Update: Frank Szabo, this morning, apologized for the comments detailed in the story below. For more information, click here. Original story: In the face of criticism from both New Hampshire Democrats and high-ranking members of his own party, Republican candidate for Hillsborough County Sheriff Frank Szabo is not backing off his comments that deadly force is an appropriate means to prevent abortion. "Just because a law is on the books does not mean that it's lawful," said Szabo. "I talk about the difference of 'legal' and 'lawful.' It used to be legal to own slaves, but that didn't make it lawful. It used to be legal to restrict someone of color to the back of bus ... Just because a piece of legislation says it's legal to murder the …

Would you have advocated helping the Jews in 1939 in Germany hide from their government? To do so would have been breaking the established law. So, are you one of those people who follow all laws, regardless of whether they break God's law or even the laws of decent people? Would you allow your child to be killed by his or her teacher if the law allowed, for example? To talk of a people who …   more ›

OP/ED: Conservatism Will Lead to Real American Progress

McKinney: Progressive thought preventing forward progress for country, citizens.

By Carolyn McKinney Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire. Whenever the so-called progressive mindset is challenged in modern debate, big-government supporters turn to 20th century welfare programs, which they say led to our country’s great success. If anything, these programs and their modern iterations, such as Obamacare, have held back the country – and more importantly, its citizens – from progressing further than we have. Our nation is now in decline because we are spending more money than we can print on progressive entitlement programs that encourage dependency on government rather than hard work, innovation and discovery. Even our state is struggling to stay afloat because the progressives in state government …

We cannot have both a welfare state and open borders. Those who open the borders do so at the direct expense of existing legal citizens who may need help and existing legal citizens whose lives are burdened with paying taxes to support the newcomers. Ron Paul is the only true conservative in the presidential race. Look him up, read his voting record, and decide if you want your wealth and that of…   more ›

Liberty Groups Flex Muscle

Kimball endorses Cain. Tea Party and like-minded groups eye Primary.

It wasn't exactly the shot heard ‘round the world, but you could smell the gun smoke. Herman Cain landed the endorsement last week of Jack Kimball, a Tea Party man who was chairman of the New Hampshire GOP until establishment Republicans forced him out last month. It was a big get for Cain as he climbs in the GOP presidential polls. It signified momentum, organization. How did it play here? The Associated Press noted it in the eighth paragraph of its story Oct. 12. Calling around late last week, several prominent New Hampshire Republicans still had not heard of Kimball emerging as Cain's New Hampshire co-chairman. Kimball's a tireless campaigner, but the Tea Party here is bigger than one person. The New Hampshire Tea Party Coalition covers…

Also, the establishment did not 'force' him out... the staff failed to do the job, even failing in supporting our 'tea party' legislature... only a small minority of supporters still feel it was an attack by the GOP on the tea party. The rest understand what was going on and why he had to either get down with the job or leave.   more ›
