Bedford Republicans, plus dozens of other locals, hail to the current chief as Obama campaign rolls out new coalition.
David Finley and Michael Jurnak of Bedford are two of many longtime Republicans, like Tammy Perron, a mother of three from Salem, who didn't vote for Mitt Romney in the Primary. And Perron doesn't plan to on Election Day, choosing instead to support the incumbent Democrat because of what she calls the GOP ticket's "anti-choice" foundation. "I can say without hesitation, when it comes to women's health, today's Republican Party is just plain backwards," said Perron, joining an Obama campaign media call Tuesday to join a new coalition, Granite State Republicans for Obama. "It starts with their nominee for president, Mitt Romney," she said. "Romney promised to get rid of funding for planned parenthood, a vital health care provider for …

Couple speaks at Bedford GOP meeting, to move to Bedford and run for NH House and Senate seats.
Sen. Andy Sanborn and Rep. Laurie Sanborn are no strangers to Bedford. Sure they live in Henniker, where they were elected to their respective seats, yet when they spoke in front of the Bedford Republican Committee Tuesday night, they already seemed at home. Indeed, the Sanborns are moving to Bedford, where they have many friends and political acquaintances. In fact, they're quite familiar with the greater-Manchester area. They did, after all, reside in the Queen City for nearly a decade prior to moving to Henniker, and Laurie's parents live locally as well. Laurie, the first in her family to attend and graduate college, was elected to the House in 2010. She spoke first at the meeting and discussed, primarily, her background in banking and…

The Sanborn's, who are moving to Bedford from Henniker, are well-known in New Hampshire political circles. Laurie, a member of the House GOP leadership team who created the House Business Coalition, plans to run for one of Bedford's six at-large represenative seats. The Sanborns, who know the Bedford area well, having resided in Manchester for almost 10 years prior to moving to Henniker, also co-own The Draft on South Main Street in Concord. New …
