Bishop Guertin grad leads team in scoring.
For four years, Jack Krzyston, dominated New Hampshire high school lacrosse, leading Bishop Guertin to multiple state championships. Now, the Bedford native is flexing his prowess on the college pitch, guiding Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) to the Division III tournament title game while leading the Tigers in scoring with 78 points on 51 goals and 27 assists. Krzyston, in fact, was one of two players to notch two goals in RIT's 10-9 overtime victory over SUNY Cortland in the D-III semifinals on Sunday, May 19. He also provided an assist in the contest. Here's a look at the upcoming BHS sports schedule.
The Bedford High School boys tennis team had dominated Division II competition for three years prior to moving up to D-I play this season. Yet the Bulldogs continue to do what they do best: Win. Even against tougher competition, the top-seeded BHS boys tennis team enters the playoffs this week with an undefeated record and looks poised to raise a fourth-straight banner. The Bulldogs host No. 8 Bishop Guertin at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at the Bedford tennis courts on County Road. One regular-season contest remains in road to playoffs.
Heading into a major playoff primer, the Bedford girls tennis team won its fourth contest in a row and 11th in its last 12. The Lady Bulldogs welcomed Timberlane of Plaistow to town and earned a decicive 9-0 victory to set up a pivitol matchup in the regular-season finale this Wednesday. BHS girls tennis team rolling again.
The Bedford girls tennis team is steamrolling toward the playoffs. BHS, on Wednesday afternoon, defeated visiting Dover, 9-0. Schedule eases for Bedford heading into a big test in the regular-season finale.
The Bedford High School girls tennis team, which had cruised to seven-straight victories – six by shutout – fell in a hard-fought matchup againt perennial Division I power Derryfield School, 6-3, late last week. The Lady B's recovered quickly, however, rebounding Friday with a 9-0 home triumph against Manchester Memorial. In fact, BHS dropped only four of 76 points in the contest. The Bedford girls tennis tennis squad, which had cruised to six-straight shutout victories, entered Monday's home contest against Pinkerton as hot as any team in Division I. Lady Bulldogs earn sixth-straight shutout, set to face tough Derryfield squad.
The Bedford girls tennis team, playing its first season in Division I, continued its hot start with a 9-0 triumph at Concord on Monday. The Lady Bulldogs return home today for arguably their toughest remaining matchup of the regular season, a 4 p.m. showdown against another one-loss squad Derryfield School of Manchester. Bedford woman among members of the Granite State Striders to reflect on the Boston Marathon bombing.
Dozens of runners, from seasoned racers to social joggers, gathered at Nashua High School South for the first Gate City Striders track practice of 2013. Before practice, an email was sent to runners encouraging them to stand together in solidarity, wearing any Boston Marathon attire they might have in their collection. For those who didn't have anything, Dave Salvas, who was at the finish line of the marathon on Monday when the bomb went off, brought about a dozen marathon jackets that he's collected over the years. All around the track, runners represented Boston in their attire, silently paying tribute to the three spectators killed and the dozens wounded in Monday's bombing.
