Bedford Under a Flash Flood Watch
Heavy rains and poor drainage may cause water to rise quickly in some areas.
Hillsborough County and much of the rest of the state are under a flash flood warning until 6 p.m. Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, warns that areas prone to high water, areas of poor drainage and small streams that rise quickly are especially at risk for flash flooding.
"A cold front will slowly move across the watch area this afternoon and evening, with very warm and humid air in place ahead of it," according to NWS. "Showers and thunderstorms will develop and push across the region today into early tonight. Some of the showers and storms may produce very heavy rain. Rainfall amounts will average between 1 and 3 inches. Some localized amounts may reach up to 4 inches, which will likely cause flash flooding."
