Well-Known Bedford Businessman Considering Run for Governor

A restaurateur from Bedford is considering challenging Maggie Hassan.

While GOP candidates for U.S. Representative and Senate continue to emerge, until now there really has been no race for governor.

Gov. Maggie Hassan, a Democrat, has no publicly announced Republican challengers in the 2014 election.

But that might be about to change.

Restaurateur Chuck Rolecek of Bedford told the Union Leader over the weekend that he has been talking with top GOP officials and potential donors to see if there is enough support for a gubernatorial run.

Rolecek, 57, the owner of C.R. Sparks and the Hanover Street Chop House, ran for Executive Council in 2012, losing in the primary.
