Have Your Say on Bedford, State Government Wednesday

State and town officials are inviting residents to a meeting at the Bedford Public Library.

Submitted by Jim Scanlon, Bedford Town Councilor.

You are invited to attend a meeting with the State Senator, House Representatives, members of the Board of Education and the Bedford Town Council. They will be gathering together on Wednesday, January 29th at 7 pm in the MacAllaster Room (downstairs) of the Bedford Public Library. Not only are you invited to attend, but we hope that you will actively participate by speaking if you choose. This assembly, co-moderated by Sen. Andy Sanborn and State Rep. John Graham, will have an open agenda to enable all taxpayers to speak on any and all topics that concern our community.

Can’t think of any? How about health care, the unfunded NH retirement system, property taxes, state and local roads (Rte. 101 as well as your street), proposed state legislation, schools, public works, police and fire? How are they doing as your elected officials? What can be done better or in a different way? What do you care about? And what should we all care about?

Your elected officials are coming together to continue to focus their efforts on your concerns, needs and wants. A democracy requires a give and take between its citizens and its government. Please do not be the missing ingredient in the democratic process. Without your participation there is neither democracy nor process.
