Due to Colorado Tragedy, Obama Campaign Event in NH Cancelled

The campaign cancels Manchester event, in light of the movie theater shooting.

In light of the tragedy in Colorado, the New Hampshire office of Obama for America announced it will cancel its event in Manchester today.

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland was scheduled to headline an event at 3 p.m. to call on Mitt Romney to release more years of tax returns. House Minority Leader Terie Norelli and Manchester Alderman Garth Corriveau were also expected at that event, as part of the Obama campaign's challenges to the Republican presidential candidate.

Romney's event in Bow, N.H., alongside U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), is still on. The candidate is speaking at a local lumber yard to talk about the importance of small businesses, and to continue to criticize the president's handling and understanding of the economy.

In the wake of the Colorado tragedy, members of the congressional delegation offered remarks.

U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), said, “I am deeply saddened by the senseless act of violence in Colorado that has taken so many innocent lives and affected so many more. For all of those impacted by this unimaginable act, you are in my thoughts and prayers.”

Obama a class act, stepping aside in a moment of national grief. We can't say the same for Romney. He'll probably try to blame this tragedy on Obama.

The man knows how to prioritize. Nobody wants to here from Mittens. This is not his area of expertise.

Obama was scheduled to talk about someone else and not what he could do for the country, you call that a class act. For once he realizes he must act. maybe he realizes how stupid this is sounding already...people died and he is worried about someone elses tax returns! How about what we can do for the country! He is president and I would expect NOTHING I mean NOTHING less than what he did. Its not admirable, he did nothing exceptional but what is expected of a person called president! If this is the pedastal we balance good on, we are a failing society.

Could someone please ask Romney why it's so easy to get an assault rifle in this country?
