Background/Education

BA in Political Science, Masters in City Planning. Born in Baltimore, MD, raised on a farm in southwestern PA, moved to NH eight years ago after graduate school to start a business.

Experience/Occupation

Currently owner of Murphy's Taproom and Murphy's Diner in Manchester, as well as the New Hampshire Sports and Social Club, with branches in Manchester, Portsmouth, Nashua, and various locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In the past I've had a wide range of occupations, including pressbox attendant for the Baltimore Orioles, electrician, bank manager, and state legislative assistant. My profession is best described as "entrepreneur."

Personal

Married to , who is also running for state representative. Two children, Alexandra and Aidan.

Priorities

I am running to protect the significant progress made the last two years in the House, and build on that progress. The GOP majority turned a $900 million deficit into a balanced budget, we reversed a number of Democratic tax increases, including the harmful car registration fee increases, and repealed job-killing regulations on small businesses. Further, I was proud to cosponsor the Parental Notification Bill, requiring parents to be notified before their minor children obtain abortions, and I led the fight to finally put CACR 13, a constitutional amendment banning an income tax, on the ballot this fall. Looking ahead, I want to continue working to lower our tax burden, to restore a truly Constitutional limited government that protects our liberties, and to push our state to recognize the right of unborn children to live. 

Present for 96% of votes the previous term, I consistently vote for smaller, less costly, less intrusive government. Because of this consistency, I have been awarded the grade of "A," or scores of higher than 92%, from the NH Liberty Alliance, Cornerstone, the Republican Liberty Caucus, A, the NRA, and the House Republican Alliance. I have been endorsed by NH Families for Education, the NHLA, the RLC, and the NRA.
