Fired Manchester Officer Investigated in 2004 Dog Shooting

Incident occurred at Pulpit Rock in Bedford.

Manchester Police Sgt. Stephen Coco was fired Monday after evidence was compiled indicating he violated several department procedures in a Friday night hit-and-run accident that left two pedestrians injured – one with "serious" head trauma.

The incident, which is being investigated by the Hillsborough County Attorney's Office and Bedford Police Department, allegedly involved an undercover dark-colored SUV that was issued to the veteran of 17-plus years with Manchester PD.

Nine years ago, according to a report on Pet-Abuse.com, Coco was also investigated by the Hillsborough County Attorney's office and Bedford PD, but never charged, in an incident in which he allegedly shot and killed a dog while off duty with his two young daughters at Pulpit Rock in Bedford.
