Bomb Threat Closes Bedford Walmart

NH State Police K-9 unit called in to assist in bomb search.

A Friday-night bomb threat sent customers scurrying out of Bedford's Walmart and ultimately shut the business down for the evening.

Bedford Police were called to the retail store, located at 17 Colby Court at 6:48 p.m., after a bomb threat was reportedly made by phone.

The building was immediately evacuated, and the New Hampshire State Police K-9 unit was called in to assist in searching for a device.

Nothing unusual was found and employees were allowed back in the building at 9:30 p.m., though the business remained closed for the night.

This incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is urged to call the Bedford Police Department at 472-5113.
