Obituary: West High School Grad, 90

Longtime local bookkeeper enjoyed bowling, ice skating and summers in Cape Cod.

Fernande E. Nassoura, 90, died Nov. 18, 2013, at The Arbors of Bedford following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester on Nov. 14, 1923, the daughter of Wilfred and Yvonne (Boisclair) Provencher.

She was a graduate of Manchester West High School, class of 1941. While single, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at C.H. Baroody Co.; she later served as bookkeeper for Manchester Parcel Delivery, her husband Emile's business. However, she was primarily a loving wife and mother whose care and concern for her family and others was an inspiration to those who knew her.

Fern enjoyed bowling, ice skating, and especially the many summers she spent with family and friends at Cape Cod. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph E. Finkey, whom she married in 1945, and her second husband, Emile Nassoura, whom she married in 1953. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Lynne F. Spaulding, in 1998.

Family members include one son, Donald J. Finkey of Manchester; one daughter, Jill E. Missler of Maysville, Ga.; one grandson, Ian R. Spaulding; two granddaughters, Emiley G. Missler and Alison F. Missler; two great-grandsons, Tyler W. Spaulding and Matthew P. Spaulding; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine F. Silveri and Lucille Y. Dann.

The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to the staff at The Arbors of Bedford for the superb care they provided for Fern.

Calling hours were Sunday at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday morning at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
