Marilyn Martin, 67, of Bedford passed away on December 15, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Cambridge, MA on January 13, 1946, the daughter of Calvin and Doris (Mills) Washburn. She graduated from North Attleborough High School, in MA in 1964 and earned her education degree from Barrington College in RI in 1968. Marilyn was joined in marriage with Kevin Martin on December 22, 1968. She spent the majority of her career as a Title 1 Reading Teacher at Dr. Crisp School in Nashua. Marilyn retired in 2013 after 45 years of teaching. She was a member of Bethany Covenant Church, Bedford, where she was active in Christian education, along with other church roles. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida and to Maine, where she enjoyed walks along the Marginal Way. She was a highly devoted teacher and beloved wife and mother.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Kevin; two daughters, Deirdre Martin and Melissa Martin; two sisters, Nancy Johnson and her husband Linwood and Beverly O'Neil and her husband Daniel; a brother, Robert Washburn and his wife Sheila; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Bethany Covenant Church, 1 Covenant Way, Bedford, NH 03110. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Covenant World Relief, c/o Bethany Covenant Church.
