Bedford Woman Attended Bethany Covenant Church for 27 Years

Longtime paralegal retired in 2012.

Nancy T. Flegal, 79, passed away on December 21, 2013. She was born in Newton, MA on February 2, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Mildred (Colby) Tisdale. Nancy graduated Phi Beta Kappa earning her Bachelors of Art degree in classics in 1955 from Wheaton College, Norton, MA. She met her future husband Bruce Flegal in the 8th grade while attending Warren Junior High School in Newton, MA. They were joined in marriage on June 18, 1955. In the early years of marriage Nancy enjoyed being a homemaker raising her sons. Upon moving to New Hampshire in 1979, she began a full time career in tax preparation and banking. Nancy began a 25 year career in 1987 as a probate paralegal with McLane Law Firm, retiring in 2012. She was a 27 year member of Bethany Covenant Church, Bedford, enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family, playing bridge, loved travel, the ocean and cruises, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren at the cottage at Lake Massasecum and in trips to Boston. 

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bruce; 2 sons, H. Scott Flegal and his wife Sheelu, and Gregg Flegal and his wife Kathleen; and 6 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in Bethany Covenant Church, One Covenant Way, Bedford, NH 03110. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376, the Merrimack Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054, or Bethany Covenant Church.
