Bedford Election Tuesday March 11th

Bedford voters will be heading to the polls on Tuesday to vote on candidates, the school budget, and warrant articles.

I have struggled with the school budget because I believe there are some revenue sources that we could explore to mitigate, even to a small degree, some of the increases in the budget.  I also feel that there are some efficiencies that can be explored.  I have spoken with school board members and look forward to sitting down after the election and looking to identify ways to mitigate increases in next year's budgets.

That said, after much consideration, I will be voting in favor of the Bedford School District Budget.

I will also be voting in favor of the road bond; we need to repair our roads and we need to do so without delay.

I will also be voting in favor of the fire substation; Bedford has outstripped its ability to effectively handle emergency calls as we have grown in population yet not kept up with the necessary personnel and equipment.

I will be voting for Brian Shaughnessy for Town Moderator; he has done a good job and reduced expenses and voter wait times dramatically, as anyone who has voted in the past couple of years can attest.  His opponent, Barbara Chagnon, is nothing other than a puppet by tax delinquent Ryk Bullock, and if she were elected I would expect more of the same lunacy that Ryk brought us.

I will be voting for Lori Radke for Town Clerk; she has done a great job over the past 6 years and served the Town well when she was a Town Councilor.

I, along with numerous former Town Councilors, School Board Members, and the former Chief of Police, representing over 130 years of service to Bedford, will be voting for Jim Aguiar and Chris Bandazian for Town Council.  We will also be voting for Bill Foote and Bill Kassler for School Board.  None of these folks have any ulterior motives for running, and will serve the interests of our Town.
