Weekend Planner: See Air Supply at The Palace Theatre

Get romantic this weekend, or just have some good times at these New Hampshire events.

1. Refill on love! Air Supply will be performing at The Palace Theatre in Manchester on Friday beginning at 7:30 p.m. Still inspiring waves of romantic frenzy across the globe three decades after their debut hit single “Lost In Love,” Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock of Air Supply have been caught in a joyfully frenzied musical whirlwind these past few years, keeping a diverse international schedule that includes the U.S., The Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Israel, Brazil and even Vietnam. Nothing wrong with conquering hearts across the planet with classic hits like “All Out Of Love,” “The One That You Love” and “Making Love Out of Nothing At All.”

2. Art! Continuing the Tradition Fine Craft Exhibition is available for viewing in The Gallery at Craft Center on Friday, Apr. 19 fron 5-7 p.m. Continuing the Tradition is a multi-media fine craft exhibition featuring the work of newly juried craftsmen. There is a public reception on Friday, April 19 from 5 pm to 7 pm, where the public is invited to see the exhibition and meet the craftspeople. The Gallery is open prior to most events held at the Capitol Center for the Arts.

3. Weather! Join a real meterologist on Friday, April 19. 7-8:30 p.m. at the Massabesic Audubon Center in Auburn for Extreme Weather Conditions in New England. Josh Judge, WMUR Meteorologist and Associated Press award winner of “The Best Weathercast,” talks about the extreme weather we have been experiencing in New England. He will discuss everything from our hot, dry summers and intense storms to how climate change may be playing a role in these events. Josh will also bring along his two books, Extreme New England Weather and kids’ book Weather Fun and Facts! Admission is $5.

4. Symphonic rock! Renaissance will be playing at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry on Friday, Apr. 19 at 8 p.m. English symphonic rock band Renaissance rose from the ashes of the seminal UK rock group, the Yardbirds, with vocalist Annie Haslam and principal songwriter and guitarist Michael Dunford to define their work with folk rock and classicalfusions. The group will tour this fall to to re-introduce to new generations the lush, orchestral favorites that made them a staple of 1970 sprogressive rock FM radio. Coupled with the radiant, acrobatic five octave voice of Annie Haslam, they revisit the symphonic textures and poetic lyrics that embody the band’s compelling international themes, with fresh interpretations of their most admired compositions. Renaissance will perform in two acts their acclaimed album NOVELLA in its' entirity plus a treasure trove of their classics and debut selections from their new album Grandine il Vento.

5. Support! Head over to Murphy's Tap Room in Manchester for the Help Save Second Base fundraiser on Saturday, Apr. 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Kids are welcome and parents all can enjoy raffles, specialty drinks and appetizers. The band Mama Kicks will start at 9:30 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Tickets are $12 at the door until 9 p.m. and are free after that time.
