NH Weekend Planner: Ribs, Fiddles and Pets!

Gobble down some ribs and good times at these fun New Hampshire events.

1. Ribs! The Nashua Rotary Rock 'n Ribfest is here for the weekend! Enjoy the best barbecue in New Hampshire with a variety of music and entertainment! New England’s premier family event – one weekend only on June 14, 15, and 16 at Anheuser-Busch in Merrimack, New Hampshire. All of the funds raised at the Rotary Rock’n Ribfest go to support area non-profit organizations, so come on out and enjoy helping others! Tickets re $10 at the gate or $7 in advance online. Kids 8 and under enter for free.

2. Playing for pets! The Spring Pops Concert for the PAWS is coming on Saturday, Jun. 15 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Greeley Park in Nashua. Admission to the concert is free. Raffle tickets will be at the concert with all proceeds going to the Humane Society. Everyone is welcome to bring their dogs and family members to the concert. The Amherst Town Band will be performing a Pops style program with a mix of standard band literature, Broadway show tunes, Jazz and marches. 3. Irish music! Get ready for Irish Night with Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki Trio and Tom Lanigan Band in the Capitol Center for the Arts on Sunday, Jun. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki Trio is an acoustic group that brings fresh energy and creativity to traditional Celtic music. Fiddler Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki is joined by fellow New Hampshire natives Matt Jensen on guitar and Chris Noyes on upright bass. Their shows usually incorporate high-energy Celtic fiddle tunes alongside original material and the occasional Celtic interpretation of more familiar music from other genres. Tickets are $15.

4. Tea! Join the Cozy Tea Cart in Brookline for their Summer Open House on Saturday, Jun. 15 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.  Enjoy samples of iced tea and foods from our daily menu. We will be introducing our new ice cream flavors! Live Japanese Tea Ceremony at noon. Local artists, live music and a variety of demonstrations throughout the day. Bring your family and friends for a relaxing, fun day.

5. Fight! Catch the action of Combat Zone MMA at Rockingham Park on Friday, Jun. 14 from 8 p.m.-11:45 p.m. Don't miss the shining stars of MMA when the region's top professional and amateur fighters battle in Steel Cage Fighters, a thrilling night of top-notch action promoted by Combat Zone. Calvin "The Boston Finisher" Kattar (13-2-0) takes on the undefeated Gabriel Baino (5-0-0) in the main event and UFC veteran Chuck O'Neil (10-5-0) matches up against the very talented and always tough Ryan "F2 Darkness" Hodge (5-7-0) from Florida in the co-main event. The entire card features highly competitive bouts that promise to be exciting from start to finish.
