Get Out! 5 Fun NH Weekend Activities

You will want to sing out loud when you see the good times in store for you this weekend.

1. The Brits are back! Get ready for the British Invasion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jun. 7 in the Palace Theater. An original musical production by Artistic Director Carl Rajotte, British Invasion pays tribute to the best musical influences and singers from across the pond! Featuring live singers and dancers, this show will honor the legends that invaded the United States in the 60s straight through to the performers they have influenced and have had success in the United States today! Featuring music from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Animals, The Zombies, Elton John, Sting, The Eurythmics, Adele and more(See Video Link Below). Come see the Palace Theatre’s theatrical interpretation of this influential musical trip! Tickets are $15-45 at the door.

2. Nonstop music! The Souhegan Valley Chorus is holding a very special end of the season gala on Saturday, June 8th, and you are invited to be part of this exciting event. The chorus will present the "SVC Showcase" -- 90 minutes of nonstop music in an intimate 1940s cabaret style setting. Attendees will be seated at small tables where exquisite desserts and beverages will be served by chorus members in formal attire while auditioned performers present favorites from the repertoire of The Great American Songbook. There is significant individual talent within the chorus, and these members will be featured in a memorable evening of song. Whether it brings back memories or provides new insight to another era, it will be an opportunity never before experienced in the Milford/Amherst area. Years ago, the popular, local American Stage Festival made its debut in the Parish Hall of the First Congregational Church on Union Street in Milford. That location will once again be transformed into a venue for an unforgettable evening of outstanding entertainment. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the curtain opens at 8:00. Tickets at $20 are available at the Toadstool Bookshop in Milford, Moulton's Market in Amherst or from chorus members. Or you may call (603) 566-0685 to reserve tickets. 3. Beer and horses! The Budweiser Clydesdale Eight-Horse Hitch will make an appearance ppearance Saturday, Jun. 8 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The world-famous, eight-horse Budweiser Clydesdale hitch will make a special appearance at the Merrimack Brewery on Saturday, June 8th. In the event of rain, the show will be held on Sunday, June 9th. Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser Clydesdales make hundreds of appearances each year. The Clydesdales are an American icon and one the most recognized corporate symbols.

4. Tea time! The NH Audubon's McLane Center is hosting their Mad Hatter Tea Party on Saturday, Jun. 8 from 6-8 p.m. Enter a Wonderland of exquisite tea from around the world at our Alice in Wonderland themed Mad Hatter Tea Party.  Potluck & Tea Tasting: We'll begin the evening by sharing food and tasting tea samples made by local herbalists and from the Cozy Tea Cart, a tea company located in Brookline, NH, where proprietor Danielle Beaudette has traveled all over the world in search of the finest teas.  Seed Swap: Bring your favorite organic seeds to share with your friends and neighbors, spread good health and share the love! Live Entertainment: We'll enjoy the classical guitar music of Tom Economides who brings a worldly flair to his instrumentation. $10.00 is the suggested donation to raise money for the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NH, programs and events.

5. Great tunes! The Midtown Men are playing at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord on Sunday, Jun. 9 at 7:30 p.m. This sensational production reunites Four Stars from the Original Cast of Broadway’s Jersey Boys. Tony Award winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer, star in this one-of-a-kind concert experience celebrating the music that defined the '60s. This marks the first time the principal cast of a high-profile musical has sky-rocketed as a completely new entity – this is not mimicry or tribute, it’s a true celebration of the music of an era, seven years in the making!
