Winter Storm Watch in Effect for NH

Southern parts of the state could see 4 to 8 inches of new snow.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for parts of New Hampshire on Tuesday, with anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow expected.

The Winter Storm Watch is in effect for coastal Rockingham County and Merrimack counties, though Hillsborough County and other parts of southern New Hampshire are also expected to get between 4 to 6 inches. Some areas further north could see even greater accumulation.

Heavy snow is possible Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. The snow will end around midnight on Tuesday. The heavy snowfall could lead to slippery, snow-packed roads and reduced visibility of only 1/4 mile or less. Winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected, with gusts up to 25 mph.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
