"Lurgio's Got Talent" A Huge Success!!

All members of CBY (Coalition for Bedford Youth) would like to thank everyone who came to support their biggest annual fundraiser "Lurgio's Got Talent" show on Saturday, March 22nd. The event this year was a huge success with a turnout of approximately 400 people.
CBY youth from 7th to 12th grade did a wonderful job of organizing the whole event, and cohesively worked together on the day to ensure the smooth running of the entire show from ticket and refreshment sales, program distribution to backstage crew help, sound and lighting.
The performances themselves were an amazing display of diverse talent from the Ross Lurgio School. It was an enjoyable evening as the dynamic emcee duo Mr Joyce, the principal at Ross Lurgio, and his son Brendan entertained the audience with their introductions of the performers as well making fun of each other. A Kindle Fire and a basket of candies were raffled off to two lucky winners!
After each of the performances positive lively commentaries were provided by two teacher judges, Mr. Courchsene and Mr. Demers as well as three student judges.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Salvation Army "Kids' Cafe" for inner city youth whose aim is to 'provide a safe environment that fosters individual growth and emphasizes community involvement. Kids' Cafe has developed into a comprehensive program that not only provides evening meals four nights a week, but also structured recreational activities, interaction with caring adults and a place where children and teens can learn and grow with the support of others.'

CBY provides a strong and positive voice for the youth of Bedford through activities, community service and outreach. Their mission is the formation of a safe and fun environment for the beneficial development of the community.
Membership is ongoing. For more Information contact cbynh.org.
