1. The weatherman says ... light snow is in the forecast today. According to Weather.com, southern New Hampshire will experience periods of light snow Thursday, with a 90-percent chance of precipitation, accumulation of less than an inch and a high of 35 degrees. The overnight low is projected at 22.
2. Winter vacation continues. Students remain on break through New Year's Day and return to school on Jan. 2.
3. Back to life, back to reality. All town and federal offices – including the library, transfer station and post office – return to normal operating hours today.
4. Help a local family in need! A GoFundMe campaign continues to help the family of Christie Billodeau Fazio, a mother who passed away on Dec. 14 after giving birth to a baby boy, Jonathan Lee. Members of the community and of the Bedford Road Baptist Church in Merrimack have raised more than $51,000 of the $55,000 goal.
5. Get your 2014 hunting or fishing license. New Hampshire fishing and hunting licenses for 2014 are now available for purchase. Get yours early and be set for a WILD year of outdoor adventure, from ice fishing this winter to bagging your deer next fall. Licenses are good for the calendar year, from January 1 through December 31, 2014. Purchase online at wildnh.com, at the N.H.
