NBC Sets Premiere Date for 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'

Here are five things you should know today.

1. Weekday Update. Seth Meyers is well known around the country for his Weekend Update segment on Saturday Night Live, as well as his punchy standup routines. According to Entertainment Weekly, the next big venture for the Bedford native begins on Monday, Feb. 24, at 12:35 a.m., when he premiers Late Night With Seth Meyers, taking over for Jimmy Fallon, who replaces Jay Leno on the Tonight Show.

2. Go sledding next to the Green Monster. Frozen Fenway is taking visitors to new heights this year with a planned 20-foot high, 75-foot long sledding and tubing ramp called the "Monster Sled," according to a story on NECN. Stationed next to the Green Monster left field wall, Monster Sled will include five separate paths that end at the Red Sox bullpen. Further information about getting tickets to visit the sledding hill will come from the mayor's office, however, according to the Red Sox, Monster Sled will be available to rent for groups of up to 100 people. 3. The weatherman says ... Today's forecasted high, according to Weather.com, is 23 degrees with a 0-percent chance of snow and sunny skies throughout the day. The overnight low is 15 degrees.

4. Get your pet's photo with Santa! Family pets are invited to join in the holiday fun at Mall of New Hampshire and have their own turn on Santa's lap on Mondays in December. This is the purr-fect chance to capture a moment of your pet celebrating Christmas cheer! 5. The Nutcracker: Act II? In the spirit of the holiday season, the St. Paul’s School Ballet Company in Concord will present The Nutcracker: Act II. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 15, at 2p.m. in Memorial Hall on the school’s Concord campus. This abridged version of The Nutcracker is free of charge and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
