Monday Essentials: An August Heat Wave in NH?

1. It's getting hot hot hot! Maybe, maybe not. If temperatures rise above 90 degrees three days in a row this week, southern New Hampshire may, in fact, be in store for one more summer heat wave. Regardless, temperatures are expected to rise steadily the next few days beginning with today, which features a forecasted high of 85 degrees and a 10-percent chance of rain, according to Weather.com.

2. Meet the coaches. Bedford High School is hosting its fall Meet the Coaches Night at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26 in the BHS Theater.

3. Don'f forget your grass skirt! 
The Purple Finch Café is celebrating two years of great food and fun in Bedford this Thursday, Aug. 22, beginning at 7 a.m. Join the festivities and wear a Hawaiian Shirt, and don't forget to try The Purple Finch's Big Kahuna Burger!

4. Bacon, eggs and politics?
 The Bedford Republican party has scheduled its annual breakfast for Monday, Sept. 23 at 7 a.m. at theManchester Country Club. Local elected officials will provide updates from Concord and possible 2014 congressional, senate and gubernatorial candidates will also be in the house! Click here for more information.
