Give Blood, Stay Warm and Have Your Say on Sunday Sales

1. A 'positively' fantastic cause. The American Red Cross has teamed up with Bedford Positively to sponsor a blood drive at the old Bedford Town Hall (70 Bedford Center Road) on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 12:30-6 p.m. All are encouraged to stop by and give blood at their convenience, but appointments are available and can either be scheduled online at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Donations may also be made to New Horizons food shelter.

2. The Town Council wants your opinion. The Bedford Town Council has scheduled public hearings today at 7 p.m. on the following items:

• 2014 Proposed Municipal Budget
• Expenditures from the Land Capital Reserve
• Amendment or Repeal of Sunday Sales Ordinance
• Proposed Amendments to the: Tax Increment Financing Distric, Development Program, and Financing Plan.
