Bring Your Dog on a 5K this Weekend

Here are five things you should know today in Bedford.

1. Not your average race. This year's My Dogs are Barking 5K takes place at Derryfield Park in Manchester. The unique run/walk, which allows participants to bring their dogs along for the jog, benefits the Animal Rescue League of NH, begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. Advance registration is $25 per person for ages 13 and up, $20 for 9-12 year olds, and free for children 8 and under. Register online today or for $30 in person on race day.


2. Missing Teen. Family and friends of Caitlyn Larocque, 15, are seeking help from anyone who might be able to provide information on her whereabouts after she reportedly ran away from her home in Amherst just after midnight Thursday morning. Mom says she may be headed to New York with another teen named Josh Peterson. Please spread the word and help bring Caitlyn home.

3. Part-time library clerk needed. The Bedford Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, flexible, customer service oriented person to join our circulation team. The candidate will work at the adult and children’s circulation areas. Duties include: answering the phone, checking out books, taking reserves and requests from patrons, helping patrons locate materials and shelving books. The part-time position will require 13-15 hours per week, including evenings and weekends in rotation with opportunities to sub for others. Qualifications: Applicants must have proficient computer skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, possess a friendly professional demeanor and enjoy working with children.
