Affordable Care Act Sign-ups Begin Today in NH

Here are a handful of things you should know today in Bedford.

1. It begins today. New Hampshire enrollment starts Tuesday for new insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act, according to the Associated Press. Anyone without insurance or who is seeking to replace their existing coverage can shop for health plans by clicking here. The deadline to purchase coverage for 2014 is March 31. The current government shutdown isn't expected to impact the start of the enrollment period, according to the AP.

2. ICYMI. Last week a young man from Windham who attended UNH went missing in the Portsmouth area. Sadly, over the weekend, a body was found in the water in the area of Prescott Park and on Monday, authorities confirmed the body was that of the missing man, Jonathan Zygmont. Read more on Windham Patch.

3. The weatherman says ... Beautiful weather on tap today. Check out this forecast from the National Weather Service. Today will be sunny, with a high near 78, while tonight will remain mostly clear with a low around 53.

4. Help raise money for breast cancer research. Southern New Hampshire Medical Center's social media charity campaign for the month of October is going to help fund breast cancer research. According to the area hospital, for each new like it receives on Facebook this month, the SNHMC will donate a dollar to the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition.
