We stopped by there yesterday due to it being an odd hour. It was around 3:30, Buckley's wasntRead Moreopen yet, so we settled on this place. Not only were there no cars, the signs to the business have been removed above the doors too! There is clearly something going on with their corporation. What I'm wondering is how long will it take to get a GREAT local Farm to Fork type restaurant in there? One that supports the locavore food scene? I would LOVE to see more like that than have one more chain come in...

Um no it comes down to who voted for this? I don't remember any of the people voting for this
Tom Boucher March 09, 2014 at 10:41 AM
The vote is this Tuesday Jane. It's in my last paragraph.

In the video those who were in Portsmouth touting how we should make Bedford like Portsmouth wereRead Moresa ying that we would vote on it on March 13 not on Tuesday. So there in lies the confusion. I really wish someone could clear that up for me and would appreciate it Tom if you would.

"hate filled comments" Seriously Jeff? I don't hate anyone, what I hate are the tinRead Morefoil hat ideas and fantasy from the far right in NH.

I moved here for the same reason in 1989. I loved the way NH stuck to the constitutional principles Read Moreof limited government and respected property rights. So you can imagine how shocked I was to learn that in 2005 I and others had to go testify at the statehouse to stop the 'regional' water commission from seizing our wells in Bedford. You may not have heard this close call with the confiscation of your property, but those are the kinds of things people who currently run the show in Bedford are doing. Anyone who serves on a regional water or regional planning commission is perpetuating the loss of local control and the push toward regionalism. That is the way they think. And as for 'we are not like CUBA', I caution you to wake up at what is going on with the unelected boards that have tried to change your zoning.... As for checking out CUBA, NH actually recently SENT 9 planners to CUBA so that a communist country who can't feed its own people could show us in NH how to better create 'urban' gardens (NH is mostly rural). Kidding? I kid you not. We have one of the best universities in horticulture in the country right here in NH and yet, your tax dollars went for this junket. This is proof of the push toward 'new urbanism'. You can see the push toward urbanism by the fact they are trying to impost overlay zoning, mixed-zoned town centers, and compact housing in certain towns even when not needed. This is very real and it is a waste of your money as well as the fact it will CHANGE THE RURAL LOOK and FEEL OF NH. Anyhow, political implications of a trip such as the one these planners took to CUBA are scary, MUCH more scary than anyone who comes here to advocate for smaller government and less corruption. Wake up folks, learn about what is going on in your own town. Don't fall for the usual smear tactics by the usual bullies.
