The council has three open three-year seats and Norm Longval is the lone incumbent to file.

That means, Paul Roy, who was voted onto the council in 2006 with Longval, will not run for a third term.

That also means Jason Carrier, having served since last year, will not be back.

Ken Peterson, a Bedford Town Councilman since 2011, has filed for another one-year term.

The two open three-year seats will presumably be filled by William Jean and Mac McMahan, the only other candidates to file, barring a write-in candidate gaining more votes.

School Board

Terry Wolf and Cindy Chagnon both are likely to return to the Bedford School Board as nobody challenged either of their three-year seats.

Other Races

Longtime Town Moderator Ryk Bullock will be challenged for his two-year position by Brian Shaughnessy, and Walter Gallo and Melinde Lutz Byrne vie for a three-year library trustee seat.

Becky Kuhns and Susan Fahey battle for the only other contested seat, a six-year position as supervisor of the checklist.

Tom Sweeney also runs uncontested for a three-year term as trustee of the trust funds.

No one filed for the open three-year seat for school district clerk.
