Citing the need for what she called "a new direction in County, State, and Federal Government," education activist and New Hampshire Tea Party Coalition founder Jane Aitken, of Bedford, today endorsed four candidates for the Sept. 11 state primary.

Those earning Aitken's support include District 9 Senate Candidate Andy Sanborn, Hillsborough County Sheriff candidate Frank Szabo, District 1 Congressional candidate Rick Parent and Executive Council District 4 candidate Tom DeBlois.

"These candidates represent the changes we need and I'm confident they will do what they say they will, once in office," said Aitken.

"I am supporting Andy Sanborn for State Senate because he already has a solid record of fighting for small businesses and personal liberties, and is extremely accessible to all New Hampshire residents," she said.

Calling Szabo "a liberty-oriented candidate," Aitken said that the candidate will bring "new knowledge and perspective to the often overlooked office of the Sheriff."

In endorsing Parent, Aitken called the Congressional District 1 candidate "a constitutional conservative who will stand up for our personal liberties as well as our national sovereignty."

And Aitken said she is endorsing DeBlois because "he has pledged to work with and support the Governor as an Executive Councilor in District 4 to prevent sales and income taxes, reduce business regulation, and lower state spending in general."

Aitken said she encourages Granite State voters to turn out in force the Sept. 11 primary to vote for these "liberty" candidates.
