Bedford Police Chief says department is 'reassessing its patrol posture.'
Count Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski among the majority of those, local and abroad, left speechless following the events that took the lives of 27 people, including 20 children, at a Connecticut elementary school yesterday.
"The tragedy in Newtown is beyond comprehension and the thoughts and prayers of all the women and men of the Bedford PD are with the victims, their loved ones, families and friends as well as all the first responders who had to handle this horrific event and will continue to do so until the case is closed," said Bryfonski.
In the wake of the tragedy, Bedford Police will be reviewing its current procedures and patrols to ensure the best practices are in place to protect Bedford children.
"The Bedford Police Department is reassessing its patrol posture in light of this tragedy and will make appropriate adjustments to assure our schools are safe and secure," he said.
