A Fun-Filled NH Fall Weekend Awaits

Here's six fun things to do in and around Bedford this Weekend.

1. Fair Game. The 135th annual Deerfield Fair starts today. The Tom Dixon Band kicks things off tonight at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on the circus/show stage. Also, enjoy rides, games, shows and plenty of tasty treats throughout the weekend. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and children 12-years old and younger are free. Seniors are $7 Thursday and Friday, and visitors can buy a $20 bracelet for unlimited rides from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday or Sunday. The is also this weekend.

2. Peep on the cheap. Fall foliage season is officially here and as the Granite State blooms with bold autumn colors, we've identified to help you save on gas, while still allowing you to appreciate the beauty of the season.

3. Manchester's a circus this weekend. The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® are storming into the Verizon Wireless Arena with BARNUM 200 SM, a new cannot-miss event celebrating The Biggest Birthday Bash in Circus History! You know the drill: motorcycle stunts, body benders and amazing animal feats! The first show is 7 p.m. on Friday and shows will continue over the week.

4. Chili chow down. The 2011 World's Championship Chili Cookoff is being hosted in Veterans Park in Manchester, NH. Cooks will compete to qualify their delicious chili as the best in the world, which can be enjoyed and fill the stomachs of all visitors. There will also be live entertainment, fun activities and vendors available. The cookoff is all weekend beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday.

5. Beer and wings. Enough said. Frank FM Radio will host the “Franktoberfest” at Holman Stadium on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sample some of the finest beer and wine from local breweries and try out chicken wings from local eateries, all trying to achieve the title of “Best Chicken Wing.” There will be bounce houses and games for the kids, along with live music throughout the event.

6. Wine down after a long week. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. tonight, EJ Gallo hosts Friday Night Flights at the in Bedford.
